Bulk Waste Collection Facility and Burn Site

Time and Hours of Operation:

8 a.m. until Noon every Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to Noon on the first and third Saturday of each month

1099 East State Highway 22, Hamilton, Texas

Permit Required:

A $30 annual Bulk Waste Permit will provide access to both facilities.  The permit can be purchased at City Hall.  These services are offered for residents and citizens of the City of Hamilton. Not for commercial use.

Effective January 1, 2022, the permit fee for access to either the Brush Drop-Off or Bulk Trash will remain $30.00.  In addition, the Bulk Waste fee schedule below will go into effect.

BULK WASTE COLLECTION FACILITY:

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS:

Furniture and bulky household items such as sinks, mattresses, hot water heaters, A/C units, appliances, etc.  Carpet must be cut in strips no more than 4’, tightly rolled and tied. Construction material such as drywall and lumber: less than 4’ in length, but no more than approximately 50 lbs of material.

ITEMS THAT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED:

Regular household garbage or waste, tires, batteries, pressurized tanks, auto parts, liquids, oil or paint, hazardous materials. 

PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING:

Please DO NOT set out items at the gate. The quantity of material is limited to an amount that equates to a pile no more than 10’ L X 5’ W X 4’ H or about the size of a pickup bed. City crews will not handle items too heavy for 2 people, or not properly prepared for collection. Please recycle what you can. Do not mix bulk waste materials with regular household waste or small, loose items. Loose bits and pieces will not be handled.

BURN SITE (BRUSH PILE):

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS:  

Residential brush, tree limbs, leaves and grass clippings.  Brush and tree limbs are to be cut into manageable sizes or units not to exceed 10 feet in length. No tree stumps. Leaves and grass clippings are to be dumped out of plastic bags and the bags removed from this facility.

PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING:  

Please DO NOT set out brush or limbs at this gate. The quantity of material is limited to an amount that equates to a pile no more than 10’ L X 5’ W X 4’ H or about the size of a pickup bed. No more than one load per day. Please recycle what you can. Do not mix brush and tree limbs with regular household waste.

You are responsible to off-load your own brush and limbs where designated.  

Please DO NOT start the Burn Site on fire! Violators will be prosecuted under Texas Penal Code 28.02.
