The Hamilton Municipal Airport is
one of the best airports in the area with instrument landing capability, airplane storage, fuel and courtesy car. Plans are developing for an industrial park onsite. Thanks to a $2.3 million construction project completed in 1996, improvements added include:
- Clearing and grubbing for the proposed improvements
- Site preparation (cut & fill) for the proposed runway improvements
- Construction of sedimentation & erosion control
- Installation of drainage improvements
- Construction of new Runway 18-36 (75' x 5000')
- Construction of new partial parallel taxiway to Runway 18
- Construction of new turn-around taxiway
- Installation of runway and taxiway marking
- Installation of taxiway centerline and edge markers
- Installation of medium intensity runway edge lighting
- Installation of a lighted wind cone and segmented circle
- Installation of visual landing aids (PAPI-2) at each runway end
- Installation of new airport perimeter fencing
- Demolition of existing Runway 18-36 and associated taxiways
- Replacement of the existing airport rotating beacon
- Reconstruction of terminal apron
