The Texas Historical Commission presented a plaque welcoming Hamilton into the Main Street Program at the Texas Downtown Conference in Georgetown, Texas. The Main Street Program is a nationally recognized and economically proven method for revitalization of historic downtowns across America. The Main Street Approach was developed with the understanding that small, incremental improvements, when taken together, provide momentum for long-term economic transformation and improved quality of life in a community. The Mayor and EDC Board and staff received training on downtown revitalization strategies and explored Downtown Georgetown for inspiration and ideas.
